Enrolments for 2022

BALLOT 29 June 2022

Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available on our school website and copies are available from the school office.

The Board advises that a number of vacancies have become available at Kirkwood Intermediate School.

Because the Board operates an enrolment scheme, it is required to fill any vacant out-of-zone places by ballot in cases where there are more applications for enrolment than there are places available.  The Board has determined that 10 Year 8 and 5 Year 7 students are likely to be available for out-of-zone students for enrolment from Monday 25 July 2022

Applications for out-of-zone places are now being invited for those students who will become eligible for enrolment during the period 25 July 2022 to 15 December 2022.

Please ensure enrolment applications for out-of-zone students are in by 24 June 2022.

If a ballot for out-of-zone places is required, it will be held on 29 June 2022.  Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.

If you live in the home zone and you have not yet signaled your intention to enrol your child later this year, please contact the school to assist us to plan appropriately.

Please contact the school office with your enrolment enquiries 033487718 or email the school:

Kirkwood Intermediate School Enrolment Scheme

To avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, the Board of Kirkwood Intermediate School has implemented an enrolment scheme that has been developed by the Secretary of Education.

Under this scheme, students will be enrolled if they live within the home zone. Please click on the link to view.

The Kirkwood Intermediate School enrolment scheme will commence in Term 2, 2022, however, if you would like to apply for a place at Kirkwood before this time then please contact the school office.

Enrolments for 2023 opens 2 May 2022 and closes 31 August 2022.  If you wish to apply after this time, then please contact the school office.

The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020.

If the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot.  If a ballot for out-of-zone places is required, it will be held on 6 September 2022, parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three working days of the ballot being held.

If you live in the home zone and have not yet signaled your intention to enrol your child later this year, please contact the school immediately to assist us to plan appropriately.
