Enrolments for Year 7 in 2025

We currently have places available for in zone and out of zone Year 7 students to attend Kirkwood Intermediate School in 2025.

Community Dental Service for School holidays

The Community Dental Service will be closed for the upcoming school holidays:

     Closed from: Monday 30th September 2024
Reopen: Monday 14th October 2024

Four of our community dental clinics will be open during the break:

Rolleston   (2/3 Norman Kirk Drive)
Aranui        (240 Breezes Road)
Timaru       (18 Woollcombe Street)

If your child is experiencing any dental pain/discomfort, you can call us on 0800 846 983 and/or email: commdental@cdhb.health.nz and one of our clinicians will contact you.

 

2025 Enrolments

We are accepting 2025 enrolment applications until 31 August 2024.

Enrolment applications will be subject to being in-zone or by winning a place through our out-of-zone applications.

Out-of-zone enrolment applications are certainly welcome. We envisage accepting the majority of out-of-zone enrolments so please do not be put off applying. The Board have determined that 140 Year 7 and 15 Year 8 places are likely to be available for out-of-zone students for 2025.

Rugby Sevens and Football have been cancelled for today due to ground conditions.

Netball, Basketball, Table Tennis and Volleyball are still on.

Parent-Teacher-Child Interviews are being held on Thursday 25 July and Monday 29 July.

Open School Sessions 2024

Open School sessions for 2024

This year we are hosting groups by appointment for various dates in June and July.

The Open School appointments run for approximately three quarters of an hour and are a group session.  Your child is welcome to attend with you.

You may book your appointment via our School Interview booking system.  Please go to School Interviews Booking

Please use Booking Code pgkar and follow the steps as instructed.

Please enter your name as the person booking but do not enter it again.  You will need to enter the names of all others attending the tour as guests.

If you do not have internet access, please call the school office (348 7718) and we will be able to make a booking for you.

The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020.

If the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot for out-of-zone places is required, it will be held the following week.  Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three working days of the ballot being held.
