Have a look on the display table in the library for Māori language Week. There is a set of cards HE MEKA! HE MEKA!= TRUE! TRUE! Made up of questions, images and facts. Grab a friend and talk together about the three themes: Me ( blue cards), Me and my family ( green cards), Me and my community ( teal cards), Me and my country ( purple cards).
Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori – Scavenger Hunt Rātū:
Ka pai Austin – yesterday’s winner!
Your clue for today is: Whare pukapuka
A token will be hidden around the school grounds at interval. Find the token and bring it to the picnic table by the staffroom for a reward.Reminder: The token will never be hidden in an out of bounds area, up a tree, inside a building or in any kind of dangerous place. If you are unsure about where you are allowed to go at breaktime, talk to your teacher. Karawhiua! Give it your best shot!
If it is 3 bells, then this will be cancelled.
Basketball Singlets: Please get these to me asap if you still have one. It’s getting a bit ridiculous now and might impact you making a team next year if you’re a Year 7. Kaitiakitanga is our goal this Term, and you are not meeting those expectations. Cheers, Mr. Botting.
Ki-o-Rahi have a go session!
At 1:15pm today our two Kirkwood Ki-o-Rahi teams will be doing a showcase and have a go session. We’ll have two fields playing. Come join them to see what it’s all about. You might even earn some tohu! Mr Burke
Ka rawe to those awesome students who earned Tohu by celebrating each other’s learning and achievements at break yesterday. What a community of learners!
Regular Tuesday sewing group is not happening today. Ms Johnson
Poi Making Class – please see the list of students who had their names drawn for this on the bottom of the notices.
Meet at 1:15pm by T5 and T6. School Council Helpers: Myra, Kisa, Sam, Lochy, Fox and Nidhi
Be on time, be grateful, be cheerful.
Te wiki o te reo Māori. Nōnaianei we have a couple of Ki-o-Rahi games on the field. Get out there and give it a go. It’s fun to play and a great way to build you te reo Māori skills.
