Library

In the Library we have created a Rugby World Cup display.  Students can check the draw and record the scores of all the games. They can learn something about each country, their flag and the colour/s of the rugby players’ jerseys. The display also holds information on the Webb Ellis Cup, great Past All Blacks and the history of the game. The students can play a game of ‘Ruggerland’ during their lunch break.

Once a week throughout the duration of the competition the library will run a Newspaper Scavenger Hunt, have various quizzes and other fun activities. Above show two participants in the Newspaper Scavenger Hunt - it was fun and their was great team work! Chocolate prizes and rugby pencils were well received by the winning team. Teams had 15 minutes to find answers in the newspaper - two teams finished well within the time allowed.

New Zealand Standing Orders - our library subscribes to the NZSO for the year. Throughout the year NZSO sends a selection of books. Offer ‘seven’ has just arrived. Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick (author of The Invention Hugo Cabret) has many of our students and teachers very excited. Cleverly written as two stories, two characters and told with text and pictures. Wonderstruck www.wonderstruckthebook.com/
