2018 Beginning of the Year

Beginning of the 2018 year

Our school year starts with ‘meet the teacher’ for all pupils where you book a 15 minute meeting online, on either Thursday 25 January or Friday 26 January 2018.  On this day you have the opportunity to buy all of your stationery so you are well prepared to start school on Monday 29 January.

Details are in the Orientation Pack mailed to you mid January.

Whanau Hui Tuesday 28 March

Dear Parents/Caregivers

Kirkwood Intermediate would like to invite all families to our first Whanau Hui for 2017.  Details as follows:

Whanau Hui Tuesday 28 March

Kirkwood Intermediate School Hall

5.30 pm until 7.30 pm

We are really excited to see our first school Kapa Haka performance of the year, led by Matua Anton.  The growth we have seen in our Kapa Haka group this year is fantastic.

Phil Tappenden will greet you all and Peter Aitken will speak about reporting and Teacher-Parent-Child interviews for the following week. He will also talk about what to expect and why attending interviews is beneficial for you and your child, what questions do you need to ask your classroom teacher and why communication and regular contact is important. We will also speak about Goal Setting.

Kōrero/ Discussion: What can Kirkwood do to help our Māori and Pasifika students? What does it mean to Māori to succeed as Māori?

This will be followed with kai provided by the school, this also gives you time and opportunity to be able to talk to teachers and your school community informally.

Games for tamariki with Lizzy and the CDN Community Trust (Community Development Trust) will entertain your whanau.

Everyone is invited from any background and more than welcome to come along and see what it is all about.

We really look forward to having you along and showing support for our growing rōpū.
