Kirkwood Student Council would like you to wear a pink shirt along with your school shorts/culottes and school shoes on Friday 17 May.

Pink Shirt Day aims to create schools, workplaces and communities where all people feel safe, valued and respected.

Bring a gold coin to donate to an awesome cause.

Whānau Hui Thursday 9 May

Dear Parents, Caregivers & Whānau

Nau mai Haere mai ki te hui a whānau.  You are warmly invited to our first Whānau Hui for 2019.  Details as follows:

Whānau Hui Thursday 9 May in Rooms 6 & 7 – 6.00 pm until 7.00 pm

We welcome you to join us for a meet and greet with kai and games to follow.  During our hui we wish to:

  • Introduce our Kapa Haka tutor Matua Anton
  • Showcase our Te Kaupeka roopu
  • Offer an insight of how Te Reo Māori and Te Ao Māori look inside a classroom
  • Meet and greet with whānau
  • Share some kai

Everyone is invited from any background and are more than welcome to come along and see what it is all about.

Interviews can be booked online  www.schoolinterviews.co.nz using event code chd98

When you have finished, your interview timetable will be emailed to you. Please note that you can return to the site and enter the event code chd98 again to change or cancel your interview time.

Interviews are also available with Technology straight after school on Monday and Tuesday.  If full, please contact the school office.  If you would like to meet with myself, please ring the office also.

If you don’t have internet access, please call the school office (phone 348 7718) and we will be able to make a booking for you.

2019 Beginning of the Year

Beginning of the 2019 year

Our school year starts with ‘meet the teacher’ for all pupils where you book a 15 minute meeting online, on either Tuesday 29 January or Wednesday 30 January 2019.  On this day you have the opportunity to buy all of your stationery so you are well prepared to start school on Thursday 31 January.

Details are in the Orientation Pack mailed to you mid January.

 

Year 8 Final Assembly – Wednesday 12 December 7pm

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whānau

Year 8 End of Year Assembly/Prize Giving is being held on Wednesday 12 December 7:00pm

You are invited to our final assembly to farewell our Year 8 pupils.  This is a formal assembly and we ask all Year 8 pupils to be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.  Pupils are to wear school uniform and sit with parents during the assembly.

The assembly will take about an hour and at the conclusion, we invite you to Rooms 6 and 7 for a supper.  This is a good opportunity to say goodbye to teachers.

Could Rooms 1, 3 and 6 please bring a plate of finger food and put this in Room 6 before the assembly.

Rooms 9, 11 and 12 are asked to please bring a bottle of soft drink or juice and put this in Room 7 before the assembly.

We hope to see as many of you as can make it.

 

New Families Evening Wednesday 21 November

Our new families for 2019 are invited to attend our information evening on Wednesday 21 November.  The evening, which will be held in the school hall, will commence with a powhiri at 6.45pm.  Refreshments will be served from approximately 7.10pm and the information evening starts at 7.30pm.
