Board of Trustees Election 2016
Board of Trustee Elections, Friday 3 June 2016
In June this year parents and caregivers of our school community will be electing a new Board of Trustees for the next three-year term.
The Board sets the vision for our school. It is responsible for the school’s performance and ensures that all legal requirements are met. You don`t need to be an expert however you do need to be prepared to learn and the really good thing is that as part of a team, the responsibility is shared.
The Board meets once every month and occasionally there will be other meetings in-between as required (eg the financial or property sub-committee may meet). There is some reading to be done in preparation for the meetings. Training is available for new trustees and being a trustee looks great on your CV!
Parent nomination forms will be posted out to you at the beginning of May.
There are three ways you can participate in these elections:
- standing for election;
- nominating someone for the election (but please ask them first!); and
- voting in the election.
If you are interested and wish to find out more about it, please either collect an information guide from the office, and/or contact the Board Chair.
I wish to say a big thank you to all our current trustees for your time and effort, some standing for re-election and some moving on.
Please ring me if you have any questions on 021 02935054
Regards
Paul Lancaster
Board of Trustees Chairperson
