Dental Care over the holidays

Dental Care over the School Holidays

The Community Dental Service will be providing emergency dental appointments on the 20th and 21st December 2018.

A service will also operate Monday, 7th January – Tuesday, 29th January 2019.

This service will operate by appointment only and if we are unable to see your child, alternative options will be given. If your child has dental pain as a result of an accident please contact your dentist in the first instance.

You can phone and make an appointment for these clinics by ringing 0800 846 983.

NZEI Teachers Stride Day Wednesday 14 November

The Kirkwood Intermediate School Board of Trustees has been advised that the Principal and classroom teachers who are members of NZEI at our school will be taking strike action on Wednesday 14 November.

The Board has carefully considered the availability of teaching staff, and unfortunately decided that we can not provide the normal teaching services during the strike.  It is important that you make alternative arrangements for the care of your child/children on the day of the strike.

If it is impossible for you to make alternative arrangements we may be able to supervise a small number of students.  Please let the school office know if your child/children will need this.

We know that this is inconvenient for parents and students alike, but please be assured that student safety is our main concern.

If the strike does not go ahead then school will operate as usual.

Thank you for your understanding.  Please contact Phil Tappenden if you have any queries relating to this decision.

Everyone is invited from any background and are more than welcome to come along and see what it is all about.

We will be having a picnic style dinner with a sausage sizzle and some food, which will be provided by the school. We would like families to bring a plate of finger food to share.

To help us cater for the evening please complete the notice in our school newsletter which has been sent to you today.

We really look forward to having you along and showing support for our growing rōpū.
