Student Notices/Panui

Buddies for Kirkwood Kid for a Morning: please remember that you need to look after your buddy at morning tea. This may include you changing your normal activities to suit what they would like to do. Also, please show them the bathrooms. Some of these students will come to Kirkwood next year and some may not. This is a great opportunity for them to see what it is like at an intermediate. It is important you are positive about whichever school they are going to next year. Thanks for all your help!
Homework Club today after school.
Tuesday sewing is cancelled today.
Please help with our library jigsaw Anzac crosses. Set up on the table in the nonfiction area.
New game available in the library – Nope! The knockout card game.
Rugby: Team meeting in Room 11 at interval. All to be present. Fine book will be out. Mr McWhirter is getting anxious the pizza will be costing him too much!
Year 7 Ski/Snowboard: We still have some spaces left. The extended due date for the permission slip is this Friday.
Gymnastics: Could the following students please come to Room 11 at break – Bronwyn (2), Charlotte (2), Isabely (4), Isadora(5), Jaime (8) and Crystal (10).

Library’s book of the week. Cloud Boy by Marcia Williams. Harry Christmas & Angie Moon are best friends. They spend their days cloud-spotting, sweet-eating and building a treehouse called Artcloud. She loves art, he loves clouds. When their friendship takes a sad turn, being best friends gets them through. This book is written in diary form, it takes you from the despair of Changi Prison, cloud formations, friendship, courage and hope. Memorable in every way, quite an extraordinary read. Look out for it in the library.
Next term we will have a small group of Chinese students attending for 3 weeks. Accompanying them will be two adults who are keen to be homestayed – If you would be happy to host either of these, please let me know. Thanks, Mr Tappenden.
Cross Country: A few outstanding permission slips. Please get them in by Friday.
NO ESOL groups today, Mrs Climo is covering in Room 10.
